How to clean the brass door

A great way to give a home elevator by cleaning the door buttons – is so sparse that when I really get to it, the difference is perceptible. If you live in a contemporary style or older home, you probably have copper door handles or at least a brass door frame, such as knockers, locks, handlebars or leaf locks. If you want to clean the brass hardware, but be concerned about being in violation, read the brass safe and effective cleaning guide.

All About Brass

First of all, brass is a gold-plated metal made of copper and zinc. This is one of the oldest alloys you know. After centuries the copper alloy was mixed with copper, precious metal and kalamine, which is zinc ore. You may miss brilliant gold, but there are often some brown color changes on your surface. Older homes are so commonly used to have a relatively low melting point of about 900 degrees, compared to other metals. It sounds like a bunch and you might think that there are not many differences between 900 and 1100 degrees, both of them both roasted at a faster rate than you can moan, but if a blacksmith is working on an old-fashioned torch, two hundred degrees makes a lot of difference ! The second reason is that it is relatively resistant to darkening … and so there is no need for frequent cleaning 😉 And the last reason is that brass is a common material that can easily be recycled without being easily melted and transformed into various objects, color change or without the metal being weakened.

They have several types of brass. Common brass, approx. 37% Zinc, which is easy to use and inexpensive. Brass, containing about 33% zinc, is known as brass; there is the admiralty copper containing 1% tin and 30% zinc. Because of tin, zinc is less responsive to chemicals in the environment that breaks down the copper. Aluminum Copper contains 1% aluminum, for similar reasons why the giant admiral brass is used. All these types of brass are common to the door buttons. Other types of brass are equipped with boiler-fired combustion equipment, metallic hoses, flexible hoses and bellows, rivets, bolts and springs. Brass does not shine in the sunlight, wear-resistant and cost-effective to create and is a popular choice in the hours, circles and hours.

Cleaning the Brass Door Buttons

If you have not cleaned the brass door buttons for a while, scrub them to help you get the best out of it. However, a warning word – if the brass contains fine details, scrubbing can remove this. Use fine quality steel wool, not your usual dishwasher. It is better to ignite for a longer period of time than rubbing it hard and making it faster. This allows you to take a little more care and help to ensure that rubbing is actually dirt, not metal or etching.

A solution for cleaning brass door handles is a mixture of a soft tablespoons salt half a cup of vinegar. This creates a saturated saline solution and unresolved salt crystals help gently remove the dirt while the vinegar's acid helps to get some dirt. Salt is also a major disinfectant that helps remove pathogens from the handles.

One of the bonuses of the brass door handles, compared to the other metal gear wheels, is that the brass is relatively unresponsive. If you have regular door handles, especially with no delicate details, you can cover the handles with the handle around the housing with the disinfectant and dishwashing agent. If you are using hard or commercial quality products, it's a good idea to check the safe use of your solutions.

Commercial brass cleaners usually perform excellent work with Brasso, old standby, even as popular as when your grandmother was nothing more than a little girl! Check the ingredients first, if you have copper details – if you see the ammonia in the list then the cleanser is probably corrosive or alkaline. If repeatedly used, leave the residue on the copper, which reacts over time and dissolves. Acid cleansers (such as vinegar) are better bet. If you are looking for a commercial cleaner outside Brasso, try Autosol Metal Polish.

The exception to the non-used rule of corrosive cleaning agents occurs when the poorly shaded copper has to be restored to a usable state. Look for the more expensive or well-known brands of brass cleaner and make sure you do not leave the product unattended while cleaning the solution. Some products have their own acid dehumidifier or can use an ecstasy powder on the top of the detergent to aid alkali keeping.

Finally, the easiest way to clean brass is to keep it on top of not much than at the same time. If you leave cleaning every year, you should use rough cleaning agents and you must risk damaging your piece. If you want old copper to be new, go gently and come again soon
