Choosing the perfect processor for building your computer

Finding the perfect processor that meets your computer's needs is not so difficult. You need to understand some things that will help you decide what the right processor is for you.

There are two leading manufacturing manufacturers on the market. These are both Intel and AMD. Both have their own advantage. Intel's most important advantage over AMD is its popularity and durability on the market. On the other hand, AMD is much cheaper than the Intel processor speed and the better performance of the game and graphics application.

The next thing you need to know is the basic value. Available processor cores are a core, two cores, four cores and the newly released six core processors. AMD processors are called X2, X3, X4 and X6. The amount of core in the processor does not mean that it multiplies its actual speed. Suppose a dual core 3.0 GHz does not mean it has a 6 GHz speed. But that's 50 percent faster than the single-core processor. The other thing is that the amount of cores in the processor can be used in multi-tasking applications such as video editing and the latest games.

The last thing we need to know here is architecture. The processor has two types of architecture: 32-bit and 64-bit. 64-bit is now more popular than the old 32-bit. The disadvantage of 32 bit 64 bits is that it can store only 4 GB of memory. The other thing is that it does not support the 64-bit operating system. The operating system has two versions of 32-bit and 64-bit versions, including the latest Windows 7, 32-bit versions. The 32-bit processor will not run on a 64-bit operating system, but a 64-bit processor will operate on a 32-bit operating system.

If you choose an Intel processor, and if your app is mostly in video mode, it's better to choose the number of seeds, say quadruple. But if applications are merely office work, such as word processing and surfing on the net, it is a dual core or even a single core.

The bottom line is that Intel processors are more expensive but durable than AMD. AMD provides much better performance in graphical applications. You also need to think about future developments, the LGA 1366 socket supports the intel i7 quad-core and the latest 6 core. AMD is the same as theirs. The best choice of processors is the Intel socket 1366 or AMD socket AM3.
